For more than four decades, Goldenwest has been one of the largest direct diamond importers in the United States and the largest worldwide customer of two of only five super site holders. That buying power gave us early access to rare diamonds and the ability to keep prices far below traditional retail.

The Outlet was created to offer an exclusive path to even deeper discounts on jewelry that is being discontinued, phased out of our active collections, or available only in limited quantities. When a design is nearing the end of its lifecycle, this is where it comes to find its final home at the best possible price.

A Legacy of Craftsmanship and Direct Manufacturing

Our story began in 1977 when founder Bill Doddridge opened Buena Park Loan & Jewelry. When the supply of pre-owned jewelry couldn’t keep pace with demand, he began designing and manufacturing his own pieces. This simple idea transformed the business. Bill realized that by creating jewelry in-house and maintaining low margins, he could offer exceptional value that traditional retailers couldn't match.

By 1987, Bill was importing diamonds directly from Israel, cutting costs by 25 to 30 percent and becoming both a direct diamond importer and a factory-direct manufacturer. These efficiencies allowed him to guarantee that his jewelry would appraise for double the purchase price, a promise rooted in confidence and consistency.

The company continued to grow, adding stores across California and eventually across the country. By maintaining its own loose diamond inventory, designing and producing most of its own jewelry, and avoiding drop-shipping altogether, Goldenwest built a vertically integrated model that still sets it apart today.
